These organizations and associations are here to offer you the opportunity to become more involved in campus life, keep you informed about important issues and maintain a network of support.
Although staff organizations have existed for decades on the Berkeley campus, in 1998 Chancellor Robert M. Berdahl spoke of developing community at Cal as one of his highest priorities, and he created the Chancellor’s Community Initiative to help the campus realize that goal. The current Chancellor, Robert J. Birgeneau, continues to support the activities of staff organizations as a way to create and foster ties among staff and the University.
